The Next Chapter Book Club
Starting September 12th Thursdays from 1-2 pm
The Next Chapter Book Club offers community-based book clubs for adolescents and adults with Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our members (including some who cannot read) love books for the same reasons most people do. They enjoy being transported to different worlds where they meet interesting characters and learn about exciting new things. Taking that journey with a group of friends makes it even more delightful and fun. The Next Chapter Book Club has chapters in the US, Canada, and Europe.
Space is limited. To register or for more information contact Karen Corbett for more information: firstname.lastname@example.org or 947-8336 ext 109.
We are starting with a Next Chapter Book Club publication which is a collection of short stories entitled "Lucky Dogs, Lost Hats, and Dating Don'ts : Hi-Lo Stories about Real Life". This book will take a few months to finish. The second book will be chosen by the group.
Not Your Ordinary Book Group
We read popular fiction, edgy and uncensored, and meet once a month on Thursday nights at 6:00 pm. This is NOT your traditional literary fiction book group. All books are chosen by our members, with an initial online vote to narrow down our choices. The final books are decided in person at the meetings.

Lit Chicks Book Group
Our Lit Chicks Book Group is the library's more traditional book group. Led by Candis Joyce, one of our reference librarians, the group meets the first Tuesday of every month at 2:00 pm, September through May. While the final choices for our book list are chosen by Candis, group members make suggestions about genre and topics to consider. Please be aware that this group keeps a membership of 20 participants. We are at that limit and we do have a waiting list. Coming soon: an online listing of our books and a way to take part online. Contact Candis at 947-8336 ext 127 or firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
