Welcome to the Local History and Special Collections section of the Bangor Public Library. Local History items provide information on Bangor, the Penobscot Valley, the State of Maine, and New England. Our materials include genealogical resources and historical references. Special Collections' unique materials include rare books on various topics. It also includes photographs and archival collections that preserve Bangor's history for future generations.
